Dr. Mathew Lee
Dr. Lee attended the University of Toronto graduating in 2008 with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences. Throughout his high school and undergraduate career, Dr. Lee participated in many intramural and team sports such as football, basketball, judo, track and field, and rugby. With such an athletic history, Dr. Lee sustained his fair share of athletic injuries, as well as gained a certain understanding of the way the body moved and functioned in different sports.
With this background, Dr. Lee went on to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and completed the four-year degree in 2012. He gained experience in both community and hospital settings (South Riverdale Community Centre & St. John's Rehabilitation Hospital) during his clinical rotations, dealing with a wide variety of conditions - ranging from acute athletic and sports injuries, functional compensations, repetitive sprains and strains - to chronic conditions, co-morbidities, and detection and referral of pathological conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and thrombophlebitis.
In addition to completing his chiropractic training, Dr. Lee also obtained his acupuncture training concomitantly while at CMCC. It consisted of 250-hours of both lecture and practical sessions, covering both contemporary medical and traditional Chinese theories, but primarily focused on the latter. Traditional Chinese Acupuncture has been reported to help with conditions such as headaches and migraines, infertility, constipation, sleeping disorders and insomnia, in addition to the musculoskeletal conditions such as low back and neck pain, knee arthritis, and rotator cuff tendinopathies to name a few.
Dr. Mathew Lee has continually strived to further his chiropractic training with courses in chiropractic manipulation techniques through the Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Active Release Techniques (ART®), Graston Technique, Functional Anatomical Palpation® and Functional Release Techniques®, as well as courses in rehabilitation and exercise prescription by world-renowned rehabilitation and biomechanics specialists Dr. Craig Liebenson and Dr. Stuart McGill, respectively.
